Surfing the WAVE’s with Serena
Serena, a year 5 pupil at Redhills Primary school, spent 6 weeks learning to surf with the WAVE project https://www.waveproject.co.uk/project-locations/devon/
She decided she wanted to raise some money to help more children learn to surf, so she organised a sponsored beach clean on Sidmouth beach and raised £1000 for the WAVE Project and has been featured in the local news papers!
We are so proud of Serena for working so hard to raise awareness around the damage to the environment that litter causes, and for wanting to help other children be able to access the WAVE project.
Serena spent lockdown litter picking her local park and even asked for a litter picking kit for her 9th birthday!
Redhills decided to have a "Where something blue, to represent the ocean" day to support Serena's fundraising.
