Hampers for HITS!

Shaldon Primary School supports local charity, HITS by putting hampers together to help families in need and the homeless.

Martha from Year 3 at Shaldon Primary School wanted to help those less fortunate than herself so she decided to collect donations to create Christmas hampers for families in need.

The local charity she decided to support was HITS (Homeless in Teignbridge Support). This charity works really hard for people in the local area who are in crisis and find themselves in need, as well as supporting people in the area who are homeless. They also run a food bank which has seen unprecedented demand this year.

Martha, along with her classmates, packed 15 Christmas hampers, filling them with essential items and some Christmas goodies too, so that those who are most in need will have a little something at Christmas to make their day feel a bit more special.
